What Is The Most Common Cause Of A Backed-Up Sewer Line?

Are Electrical Appliances Affected By Lightning Strikes?

According to Stephanie Diaz, “A diffuser is an attachment for your blow dryer that disperses the air to reduce frizz and keep from disrupting the natural wave pattern“

It is important for every lady to have a diffuser because it is known for drying your curls frizz-free.

Now, you might also ask if there is a way to recreate the diffuser at home without spending money on a store-bought one? The answer is YES!

The two popular and most recommended options for those who don’t have a diffuser are:

1. Homemade sock diffuser

2. Blow drying in a plop

Now let’s discuss the first;

1. Homemade sock diffuser

In 3 Steps, make a home made hair dryer diffuser (using the Homemade sock diffuser)

  1. Cover the end of your blow dryer with a breathable fabric (such as a cheesecloth), leaving about 2 to 3 inches of air bubble at the end.
  2. Attach it with one of your hair ties and you’re done.
  3. Use it to dry your wet waves and curls as you would with a regular sock diffuser attachment.

Does This Homemade Hair Drying Diffuser Hack REALLY Work?

YES! This hack has the potential to work, but it depends on the type of material you use as your “sock”. While it’s true that this looks like a normal sock diffuser, the truth is that you could potentially get frizzy hair, or worse, your chosen fabric could melt under the heat of the blow dryer. Some fabrics can also be too absorbent and cause unwanted frizz when they come in contact with your hair.

2. Blow drying in a plop

In 3 Steps, make a home made hair dryer diffuser (using the blow drying in a plop)

  1. Perform your styling routine as usual and then place your hair in a plop..
  2. Once your hair is pinned up, you can use your blow dryer on a normal setting, moving around the plop to dry without coming into direct contact with your hair.
  3. Continue until your hair is about 80% dry; let your waves and curls air dry the rest of the way to avoid heat damage.

Does This Homemade Hair Drying Diffuser Hack REALLY Work?

YES IT WORKS! This is the best option if you do not have a diffuser on hand. You only want to do this with a cotton t-shirt, as it can help reduce frizz and minimize drying time without melting. However, this method does leave you vulnerable to distorting your natural curl pattern because your hair is pressed up against your head while you are drying. If traditional plopping works for your texture, this hack may be safe to give a go.

Should I Use a DIY Homemade Hair Dryer Diffuser Or Not

While both of these options could technically work, BECKY WOODFORD of Naturallycurly advises that it is better to go out and spend $10 on a real diffuser. According to her, Companies that sell sock diffusers have put a lot of time and money into selecting materials that can withstand the heat of a blow dryer, but aren’t abrasive, won’t cause frizz, and won’t put your hair at risk of melting the fabric in your hair. It’s worth spending the money on the right material.

Blow drying while braiding or plopping can be an option, but you may find that it doesn’t speed up the drying process much because your hair is piled on top of your head and you’re only heating the outermost part. You may feel your tips getting hot while the hair near the top of your head is still wet.
