To clean your house systematically and efficiently, we should always proceed from top to bottom and back to front.

For example, always wash your home from top to bottom so that dirt and dust fall from the upper surfaces to the lower ones.

Begin in the far corner of a room and work your way out, catching everything as the front edge moves forward.

Step-By-Step Procedure For Cleaning A House

Pre-Clean

The purpose of pre-cleaning is to get rid of the surface clutter and misplaced items so that your home doesn’t feel like a complete disaster area while you go in deep and clean a little more thoroughly than you usually would.

You can skip this step if you want, but since you’ll have to do it anyway, you might as well do it first.

  • Pick up clutter throughout the house- A basket or box for each family member works well. Go through room by room, picking up lost items and putting them in the appropriate box, then give each person their box of things to put away.
  • Wash dishes and put them away
  • Clean up and wipe down kitchen counters

Top Zone -Everything Above Your Head

This area includes the most neglected high places in your home forgotten ledges, tall windows, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and vents. While up there, change the filters and replace the light bulbs.

  • Dust or vacuum upper moldings and cabinets
  • Clean vents
  • Dust or clean ceiling fans
  • Dust or wash light fixtures
  • Clean high windows
  • Change light bulbs & replace air filters

Middle To Upper Area -Eye Level

This area includes anything you look at while standing, especially windows, walls, tall bookshelves, or other tall furniture.

  • Washing, ironing, and rehanging curtains
  • Dusting bookshelves and other tall furniture
  • Washing windows
  • Dusting pictures, mirrors, clocks, and other wall hangings

Medium To Low Zone -Waist Height

This zone comprises the majority of the standard cleaning sites – restrooms, furniture, and beds – however, they are all cleaned more thoroughly than a typical daily cleaning.

  • Dusting surfaces
  • Polish wood furniture
  • Cleaning leather furniture
  • Vacuum and spot-clean upholstered furniture
  • Wash sheets and change bedding
  • Clean and wipe bathroom sinks and counters
  • Scrub showers and bathtubs
  • Clean toilet

Lowest Zone -Floor Level

This zone includes just the floor and baseboards – which means you’re almost done! If you sweep, vacuum, mop, and take the time to clean up dust and dirt in corners, your home will be sparkling clean.

  • Sweep hard floors and Spot clean and mop tile or linoleum floors
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs
  • Wash small carpets
  • Dust baseboards
  • Sweep front and back steps and porches

How To Clean Hour House Thoroughly

Start with these essential cleaning tips as you go through each room in your home to streamline the process.

Declutter before you do your basic cleaning

Please find a new place for any visible items that don’t belong in the room (or, better yet, eliminate them). Save the at are behind closed doors for another day to simple life essential cleaning checklist.

Removing clutter makes deep cleaning more accessible, and the sight of clean surfaces can increase your motivation to keep going.

Start High, Go Deep

Start with the ceiling, then move on to the baseboards, walls, the rest of the frame, ceiling trim, and ceiling lights (including light bulbs). A duster with a telescoping handle or a clean microfiber mop is the finest tool for these surfaces.

These tools are usually thin enough to reach behind the sofa without moving. A splash of water above eye level is all you need to mop. Surfaces closer to the floor tend to accumulate dirt and dust, so mix warm water with a drop of dishwashing liquid.

Add a few drops of white vinegar to the mixture to stop mold and mildew in the bathrooms. Rinse frequently, then thoroughly wring.

Clean Windows Thoroughly

Cleaning windows is pretty straightforward, and the benefits are enormous. First, vacuum the window sills and tracks, and spray the window from top to bottom with glass cleaner.

Allow the cleaner to sit for a moment before wiping it off. It will be simpler to see and eliminate streaks if you wipe one way for interior windows and another for external glass.

Embellish The Window Decorations

Avoid the hassle of removing the blinds or drapes. All you have to do is use the brush attachment to vacuum them.

Additionally, you can shake up curtains in the dryer for a few minutes while cleaning the rings and rods rather than washing and ironing them. Rehang them after that.

Remove Dust From Surfaces

Wipe down any remaining hard surfaces (wood furniture, shelves, built-ins, etc.) with furniture cleaner and polish and a soft cloth.

For an extra quick clean, pull a clean cotton sock over your dominant hand to dust surfaces, and use your other hand to push items out of the way. Finally, take a lint roller for the lampshades.

Clean The Floors Thoroughly

To do this properly, you’ll need to move furniture, including larger pieces like beds and sofas. To make moving heavy parts easier, place furniture glides under the legs of a large table.

Then, remove the crevice nozzle on your vacuum to remove dirt in corners and along baseboards. If you have hard flooring, clean it with a microfiber mop and the appropriate cleaner for the surface.

If you have carpet, now is an excellent time to hire a professional cleaner. And if you have pets and children, consider investing in your cleanser.
